Transparency Statement for Sport NZ and HPSNZ

This transparency statement explains how we comply with the Information Gathering Model Standards issued by New Zealand’s State Services Commission.

Sport NZ and HPSNZ do not have any law enforcement or regulatory compliance responsibilities, and so neither organisation gathers any information for these purposes.

The security of information that we do hold (both electronic and physical access) is managed in accordance with our Information Security Policy, Systems Access Policy and Policy on the Protection of IT Infrastructure, and in compliance with the Privacy Act 1993, the Official Information Act 1982 and the Public Records Act 2005. The information we hold is used only for the purpose(s) for which it is collected or as otherwise advised, including as described in our Information Classification Policy.

Note where we have serious concerns regarding potential threats to the physical security of staff, or the security of information or places, we will engage an appropriate authority (such as the NZ Police).

Should we identify a need to gather information that falls within the scope of the Information Gathering Model Standards in the future, we will ensure that we comply with those standards, and update this transparency statement accordingly.

This statement applies to information gathered by us, our contractors, or any other third parties engaged by us.
